SOFA will be taking place in one of the town’s busiest weeks (Folk Art Market) from July 8-11 and we will be there with a large booth and a major feature on Diego Romero with over a dozen works. SOFA is also organizing a four-day conference on Native Pottery, a great treat for a small group that will visit potter’s studios, Taos, Acoma and other key sites.
Also, NCECA is presenting Critical Ceramics: Santa Fe, an exciting, not-to-be-missed international Symposium on developing criticism in ceramics with speakers including Donald Kuspit, Dave Hickey (photo alongside), Janet Koplos, Raphael Rubenstein, Roberta Smith, Paul Mathieu, Gabi Dewald, Glen Brown, Garth Clark, and Tanya Harrod. The conference takes place October 27-30, 2010 and is shaping up to be a major event. Closing date for the call for papers has been extended. For information email Jim Romberg, Project Director: jimromberg@criticalsantafe.com.
