Ron Nagle "Spit Shine"
At James Kelly Contemporary in Santa Fe

Ron Nagle’s exhibition, "Spit Shine," opens at James Kelly Contemporary in Santa Fe with a reception on Friday July 30th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. (the artist will be in attendance) and runs through September 25. In recent years, Nagle, one of the most important artists working in ceramics today, has shifted his focus away from the cup/vessel form to small-scale abstract sculptures, putting dry raw surfaces together with exquisitely smooth lipstick-gloss surfaces on the same piece. This is the highlight of the summer arts season and is not to be missed. Shown at left: Ron Nagle, “A Rose Grows in Coma,” 2010, ceramic, 4-1/4 x 3-1/2 x 7 inches.
